We believe it’s important to give back to our local communities and support those who are working hard to change people’s lives for the better.

When we found out that one in 10 UK charities faced bankruptcy* by the end of 2020, we knew we had to do something to help. They were struggling with a £10 billion shortfall caused by soaring demand for their services, and had lost fundraising income due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Our Capstone Financial team would usually help by hosting or taking part in fundraising events, but these were postponed or cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation. It felt important, therefore, to come up with other ways we could offer immediate help.

Following some great initial feedback from a few clients, we launched an initiative to donate £50 to local charities each time a client introduces us to a family member, friend or contact, and they meet with us.

This has been a great way to raise additional donations. After all, it’s through client introductions that we’ve successfully grown our business over the years, and now we want to support charities at a time when they need to find additional funding.

We also give ongoing support to the St James’s Place Charitable Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the St. James’s Place Wealth Management Group. Since its launch in 1992, the Foundation has raised and distributed over £100 million for thousands of charities with a focus on supporting young people.
